Members present:         Mel Cote, Gerard Irmer, and Philip Scholl.

Members absent:           Keith Amato and Melinda Ancillo (both unexcused)

                                       Marty Huey (excused)

Staff:                              Rex McKinsey

AGENDA

The meeting was called to order at 4:30 p.m.

Old Business:

Review 2005 Amendments to the 1999 Harbor Plan status

Rex McKinsey is still working on the Harbor Plan.

New Business:

Discussion on the beach cleaning machine.

Rex M. and Jerry I. had a discussion with the DPW.  There was a demonstration of a Cherrington Company machine that was self-propelled and got stuck on the beach – as in mired.  Jerry will see if they can have the demo of a machine by H. C. Barber & Sons, Inc. done this fall.  He will contact the Dennis DPW who have a machine so that he can be brought up to speed on it.  Jerry wants to see if they can pick up seaweed.  If we buy it then the DPW will have to buy a tractor and they can also use the tractor to mow and clean the sides of the road.

Other:

Rex needs a letter of support for a water quality grant that he’s writing.  Rex said that he will put the package together and is trying to get some money from Truro to help with this.  He also said that he doesn’t have enough data to show where the pollution is coming from.

Rex would also like a letter of support for the courtesy pump-out boat.  The pumped-out material will go into the sewer system and part of the grant would be a request for a separate sewer hook-up right on the wharf.

Mel is going on a trip to Australia on the 6th and will probably miss the next two meetings.  Should the same people remain absent, there will not be a quorum for November meetings.

Adjournment happened at 4:46 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Evelyn Gaudiano
