Health Agent’s Report

Enforcement of Condo Rental Fees

Pam Parmakian, Selectman, spoke to Jane Evans about the fees for health inspections of short term rentals and also the fees that are charged if you rent the condo for 90 days or less.  Duane Gregory feels that without a staff to oversee this by-law, enforcement is difficult.

18 Montello Street

This address was issued an emergency repair for a collapsed cesspool.

Health Inspector’s Report

Recycling

Brian updated the group on the recycling regulations that he’s been asked to enforce.

Lead Paint

He will be updating the rules for removing lead paint from buildings.  He has had a lot of calls about EPA rules, i.e., dust should be managed when sanding, etc.    When a complaint comes in Brian calls in someone to educate the people doing the lead paint removal.

Storm Management

Brian was asked to put something in the Banner for Storm Management.  He has contacted Sally Rose and will comply.  He has just completed FEMA instructions and, as requested by the Town Manager, is cross training with Coast Guard.  The Town Manager would like others to go through this cross training as well.

Water Testing Grant

This grant has begun and Brian was taking samples at 5:00 a.m. today.   It is supported for testing 6 times during the summer.
