Building & Grounds Division is doing an excellent job maintaining the Fire Department’s grounds.
Radio Call Numbers for Lower Cape Ambulance Crew discussed. Letter received from Truro Fire Chief Prada regarding new Radio Call Numbers issued to Truro Fire/Rescue for distribution to Lower Cape Ambulance employees. (Copy attached)
Air Horn Repair discussed. Chief, Deputy Chief and Bill Ingraham responded to Town Hall to shut off the Air Horn over the weekend. AT&T was contacted to repair the wire between Town Hall and the Police Station.
Fire Prevention Week activities discussed. Paul Silva will be taking Engine #1 to the Pre-School Program. Fire Prevention & Safety material will be distributed to the children.
Boards Comments
New Chairs for Engineers Meeting Room discussed.
Furnace to be installed at Station #5 discussed.
Estimate for repairs to Engine 195 approximately $22,000.00. Chief will go over list of repairs needed.
Officers Meeting will be held on November 7, 2001. Captains & Lieutenants will be advised of meeting date in a Memo.
Antique Hand Tub presently stored at the Heritage Museum discussed. Location where to store Hand Tub discussed.
Jeep Portable Pump stored at Station #5 discussed.
Motion: Roderick motioned to offer the pump to the DPW, if their not interested in it, it will be declared surplus property, Menangas seconded the motion; All in favor.
Johnson Street Station discussed. Cabinets from the station will be removed to make more space.
Motion: Roderick motioned to remove all the cabinets from the middle bay in the #4 garage and move the door as close to the stairs as possible, Wolf seconded the motion, All in favor.
Alarm at Johnson Street Station connected through phone line may no longer be needed with new LCA Alarm System. Ken Oxtoby will be consulted.
7 Masonic Place fire on October 10, 2001 discussed. Captain Michael D. Benjamin # 4, Mark D. Duarte #1, Lt. Vaughn Cabral #1, Larry Flores #4, Scott Enos #3, Lt. George Felton #2 and Captain Daniel Silva from the Truro Fire Dept. will be presented with certificates for their performance at the fire.
Motion: Alexander motioned to award certificates to department members for their outstanding performance at the fire scene; Menangas seconded the motion, All in favor.
All Company Drill will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2001 to discuss the Masonic Place fire.
Ladder Company 192 discussed. The Chief would like to give Ladder Company #2 a certificate in appreciation for helping other town departments with projects using the Ladder Truck.
800 Radios discussed. Truro Fire Chief Prada will be trying out two 800 Radio’s in the Mast. Chief Trovato stated that when he was in Hyannis he could hear Benjamin on the radio during the fire. Alexander stated that Benjamin couldn’t be heard outside of the building at the scene.
Engine 194 discussed. Air operated valve is not opening. AJ Quirk will be contacted.
Motion: Wolf motioned to adjourn the meeting; Zawaduk seconded the motion, All in favor.
