Rescue members recommended that Doug Allen, Nancy Swanson and Brian Smith be moved up to Regular positions in the Rescue Squad.
Application received from Rodrigo Santos. Santos recently
completed FF I & II course and is presently enrolled in an
Application received from Alan Felton. Felton recently received his Paramedic Certification and moved back to Provincetown. The squad voted unanimously to approve Felton’s application for membership.
Matter will be tabled until the number of positions available in the rescue squad roster is researched.
Chief’s Report
First Responder Training discussed. Gil Taylor will be contacted regarding instructing a First Responder course.
Provincetown Portuguese Festival will be held on Saturday, June 28th @ 3:00 p.m. Parade will depart at 3:00 p.m. from the Cape Inn parking lot. This year will honor the 60th Blessing of the Fleet.
Funeral Expense Law discussed. This law is a local option law that authorizes cities and towns to pay for funeral expenses when a firefighter-career, call or volunteer- dies in the line of duty.
Motion: Roderick motioned to approve General Law, Chapter 41, Section 100G1/4 to be adopted by the Town at the next town meeting; Menangas seconded the motion, All in favor.
Letter will be sent to town manager Sharon Lynn requesting the Funeral Expense Law be placed in an Article at the next town meeting.
Motion: Menangas motioned to adjourn the meeting; Roderick seconded the motion, All in favor to adjourn.
