Meeting of the Board of Fire Engineers

Meeting convened at 7:51 p.m.

 

Members present:         Michael Trovato, Chief

                                    Warren Alexander, Deputy

                                    James Roderick

                                    Gerard Menangas

 

 

Chief’s Report

 

Chief Trovato will send Lorne Russell and Jon Watson a letter regarding their status in the department.

 

Letter of resignation received from Michael Smith #3. Board will send him a letter thanking him for his 30 years of service.

 

Letter of appreciation received from the Board of Selectmen thanking the department for their service during the recent rash of arson fires.

 

A retirement party for Chief Steven Edwards of the Orleans Fire Department will be held on March 1st at the Sheraton in Eastham.

 

House Reports

Christine Douglas may return to duty, with no restrictions, beginning 1/2/08 per her physician, Dr. Paul Benoit of Coastal Orthopedics in Hyannis.

 

Fernando Hernandez needs a new Turn Out Coat, size 44 w Radio pocket & Flashlight holder.

 

Motion: Menangas motioned to purchase the gear; Roderick seconded the motion, All in favor.

 

House members voted to move John Souza III from a Junior to Auxiliary position, pending his physical exam.

 

House members voted to move Rodrigo Santos and Fernando Hernandez to Regular status.

 

Motion: Menangas motioned to approve the vote of the house for John Souza, Rodrigo Santos and Fernando Hernandez, effective 1/1/08; Roderick seconded the motion; All in favor.

Aerial Device Test for the Ladder truck may be due.  Date of last inspection will be checked.
