Meeting of the Board of Fire Engineers

Meeting convened at 7:45 p.m.

Chief’s Report

 

New Digital Camera and a new Gas Detector will be purchased.

 

Rescue Captain’s position will be increased by $350.

 

Maryann Bragg requesting copies of arson fire incident reports.

 

Basic Wildland Fire Suppression Course will be held on the island of Martha’s Vineyard on January 5 & 6, January 12 & 13 and January 19, 2008. The class is free of charge.  DCR will also be able to provide transportation for students from the ferry or airport to class & back. and free housing will be available as well. Contact Dist. 1 Fire Warden Joshua Nigro @ 508-889-4094. Warden Nigro will instruct a 2 hr or 12 hr class at our station free of charge, upon request.

Fernando Hernandez and Rodrigo Santos are interested in attending the course.

 

Provincetown Inn has shut down its Sprinkler system for the winter.

 

Post Office Café shut off upstairs portion of building.

 

Letter regarding the residency of department members discussed.  All members will be sent a copy of the letter.

 

Motion: Roderick motioned to send the letter to all members of the department; Adam seconded the motion; All in favor.

 

House #4

 

House members voted to move Junior member John Souza to an Auxiliary position.

 

Motion: Menangas motioned to accept the vote of the house; Roderick seconded the motion, All in favor.

 

Rosemary Henrique and Michael Turner still have not returned their fire dept. equipment and gear.

Chief Trovato will call them.

Application for membership received from Jeffrey Coho.  House members voted unanimously to decline the application.

 

Fragmentation cage @ Main Station needs to be installed.

 

Water Leaks @ Main Station need to be addressed.

 

Adam Wolf advised the board that he would be resigning from the BoFE effective 1/1/08.
