Meeting of the Board of Fire Engineers

 

January 3, 2007

 

 

Meeting convened at 7:55 p.m.

 

Members present:                        Chief Michael S. Trovato

Chief’s Report

 

Generator at Main Station is up and running.

 

Ladder 192 will be scheduled for ladder testing and repair of the leaking cylinder at Polymax Motors in Middleboro, MA.  Approx. cost: $2,000.00

 

Engine Company 4

 

Application for membership received from Christyne Douglas.  House members voted 10 to 0 in favor of accepting her as an Auxiliary member of House # 4, pending her physical exam.

 

Motion: Menangas motioned to accept the house vote and approve Douglas as an Auxiliary member of #4, pending her physical examination; Roderick seconded the motion; All in favor.

 

Applications (2) received for Junior membership from John F. Souza and Jonas C. Ayala.

 

Motion: Menangas motioned to accept Souza and Ayala as Junior members of House #4;

Wolf seconded the motion; All in favor.

 

Engine Company 5

 

Attendance Records: Fires, Drills & Meetings discussed.

 

Wolf stated that according to #5’s attendance records David Roach and Brian Alexander are not actively participating at fires, drills or meetings. All Attendance records will be reviewed when they are completed.

 

 

 

Annual Payroll discussed.

 

Fire and Rescue members who no longer live in Provincetown discussed. 

Members are not submitting their new address information to Captains or Fire Headquarters.  Captains will be advised by letter to obtain updated address information of all members.

The board will review which members will be classified as Non-paid Auxiliary status.  BoFE will make a decision and vote on the status of members in order to clarify the information received by the office for the 2007 Payroll.

 

Information re On Line Dispatching Training received from Truro Police Dept.

Fire Science Training is also available on line.

Chief Trovato spoke to Barry Pina re First Responder training needed for department members.  Wolf spoke to April Silva at Truro Fire Department re training.

 

EMT Testing discussed.  Payment for two (2) EMT tests requested by Eli Martinez.  Original agreement in the minutes will be researched.

 

Post Office Café Sprinkler system plan discussed. Only the upstairs of the building will be sprinkled.

 

531 Commercial Street Structure discussed.  Alexander expressed his concerns regarding the lack of fire rating on the temporary structure erected over the house on the property.  Alexander will draft up a letter to the building department expressing the boards concerns.

 

DPH Ambulance Regulation Program citations and plan of corrections discussed.

Wolf is working on the corrective actions that will satisfy the reported deficiencies.
