Meeting of the Board of Fire Engineers

November 15, 2005

Meeting convened at 7:30 p.m.

CHIEF’S REPORT

Deputy Alexander submitted a report on the scheduling of all department meetings and drills as discussed at the October 27, 2005 Officers Meeting.

RESCUE

Heartsafe Program - Engineer Monks submitted a report on the status of the Program.

Two more AED’s will be ordered. One for the Athletic Department at the High School and one for the Transfer Station.

4^th of July 2006 discussed. Suggestions to improve safety issue were: Holding the Fireworks display on a day other than the 4^th of July; and requesting the Tourism board to hire another Ambulance Service to help cover the town on the night of the fireworks.

FY 07 BUDGET

Third Rescue Vehicle will be requested through FY07 Budget. $10,000.00 Grant received from the Hiebert Charitable Foundation will be used towards the purchase of the vehicle. Request will be discussed with Town Manager Bergman during the Budget review meeting on December 19^th.

Pay increase for Seasonal Rescue Standby positions discussed.

Motion: Alexander motioned to increase each position by 50 cents per hour, (EMT - $17.50; EMT-I – $19.00; EMT-P - $21.00) Menangas seconded the motion; All in favor.

Budget Line Items reviewed by the board.

Captains & Lieutenants meeting will be held on Thursday, December 1^st, 2005 at 7:00 p.m.

Board will meet for a second Budget Meeting on Monday, December 21^st at 7:30 p.m.
