Meeting of the Board of Fire Engineer

 

December 17, 2003

 

 

 

Meeting convened at 7:55 p.m.

All Company Drill will be held for all three new trucks from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

 

Board members will meet with the Board of Selectmen and the Finance Committee to review the Budget and Capital requests on Thursday, February 26, 2004 from 3:30 to 4 p.m.

 

Provincetown Inn has drained the wet sprinkler system located in the closed portion of the main lobby building.

 

Two (2) bids received for the Surplus 1993 Ford Ambulance:  Cabral Enterprises bid $500.00; Ed Machado bid $1,100.00.  Vehicle should be thoroughly cleaned out before it leaves the station.

 

Motion:  Alexander motioned to recommend to the Town Manager to accept the bid of $1,100.00 from Ed Machado for the surplus 1993 Ford Ambulance; Zawaduk seconded the motion; All in favor.

 

Personnel Issue

 

Chief Trovato suggested the meeting go into Executive session to discuss the dismissal of Lisa Silva King from the fire department.

 

Motion:  Alexander motioned to move the meeting into Executive Session, Zawaduk seconded the motion; All in favor.

 

Roll Call vote taken: Monks, Zawaduk, Menangas, Alexander and Trovato in favor of the

holding the meeting in Executive session.

 

 

Chemicals stored at the High School discussed.

 

List of Chemicals kept on hand at the High School including a sheet indicating their location submitted to the fire department by Superintendent Trailor.  List will distribute to all trucks.

 

Accountability Tags discussed.  PAT specifications, photos, etc. will be looked into for the tags.

 

Engine 190

 

Problems with Engine 190’s discussed.

 

The Chief and Chuck from EVM found corroded connections on the alternator and on the voltage regulator.  Truck is still slow taking off and will be tested with Engine 195 over the weekend.

 

House # 2

 

Letter will be sent to James Roach dismissing him from Ladder Co. 192 due to his lack of interest and participation.

 

House # 3

 

New Jaffrey valves were received and placed on Engine 193 and Engine 190.  Old Jaffrey valve was placed on Engine 195.

 

House #4

 

Furnace at Johnson Street Station will be checked by Cape Cod Oil Co. Furnace may have to be replaced.

 

House # 5

 

Engine 195 has been repaired and is working order.  The Chief stated he was not aware that the truck was broken.

 

Fire Alarm Panel at Main Station discussed.

 

Electrical Inspector Ed Schneiderhan will be asked to look into having the panel repaired.

 

 

 

 

Main Station Steward discussed.

 

Nathan Herrick still interested in the position.  Town Manager Bergman will be consulted re insurance coverage for Herrick.
