Board of Fire Engineers Meeting

Open Session

 

Department Rules & Regulations discussed.

 

A meeting regarding Department Rules & Regulations will be held the third week in January.

 

New members will be presented with a copy of the department’s rules & regulations.  They will also sign a sheet stating that they understand what’s expected of them as a member of the fire department.

 

Following the January meeting, all members will receive a copy of the department’s rules & regulations including a form requesting their signature of understanding.

 

Chief Trovato and Engineer Monks will compose a letter to be sent to Lisa Silva King advising her that she will be removed from her position, with pay, until the issues that were discussed in the Executive Session meeting are addressed.

 

 

Purchase of New or Used Phone System with Voice Mail discussed.  Information on the system will be requested from Barr Stanton.

 

Motion:  Alexander motioned to purchase the new system; Roderick seconded the motion; All in favor.

 

 

Purchase of Radios discussed.

Remaining funds in Self Contained Breathing Apparatus Article (Art. 4-2, ATM-02, 02022000-58802: $17,017.71.)

 

Motion:  Roderick motioned to purchase four (4) Voice Pack from Scott and six (6) Motorola MTS 2000 Radios; Alexander seconded the motion; All in favor.

 

Bids for 1973 Ford Maxim Fire Engine (Old 190) discussed.

 

Two bids received:  Edward Silva - 325.00 and Cabral Enterprises - $2,222.22.

 

Bid awarded to Cabral Enterprises for $2,222.22.

 

Dispatch Meeting will be scheduled for November.  Add to Action list.

 

Engine Company 190

 

Equipment request for two (2) Hand lights, one (1) 30 inch Haligan tool and three (3)

Pass Devices.

 

Ladder 192

 

Mike Smith will be contacted to repair the intercom on the ladder truck.

 

Roderick informed the board that the State had passed an Article for volunteer fire departments on Health Insurance.  Health insurance will be available to be purchased through the Town at 100 % the group cost.  An Article must be submitted and approved  at Town Meeting in order to obtain the insurance.

 

Engine Company 194

 

Application for membership received from Betina Johnson.

 

Motion: Roderick motioned to accept the house vote for Betina Johnson as an Auxiliary member; Monks seconded the motion; All in favor.

 

Engine Company 195

 

Brackets for Air Packs on 195 will be requested.

 

Portable Radio Strap Holders discussed.

 

Wolf motioned that the use of the radio holders be included in the 2004 Rescue Standby
