Meeting of the Board of Fire Engineers

Meeting called to order at 7:45 p.m.

            Chief’s Report

 

Disposal of Old Engine 190 and Old Rescue Vehicle 197 discussed.  Vehicles will be advertised to accept bids. Funds received upon the sale of the vehicles will go into the Fire Vehicle account.  These funds will be used for the purchase of future fire or rescue vehicles.

 

Motion: Wolf motioned to dispose of the vehicles, Roderick seconded the motion; 4 in favor, 1 against, Motion carried.

 

By-law requiring double walled storage tanks in town for new construction, when a tank is replaced, or upon the sale of property.  Board in favor.

 

Reimbursement Policy for members who spend time in Court representing the Fire Dept discussed.

 

Motion: Wolf motioned to reimburse fire department members for their time, mileage and meals when representing the department in court, Roderick seconded the motion, All in favor.

(This does not apply to employees of Lower Cape Ambulance)

 

 

Engine Company #3

 

Application for membership in House #3 received from Travis Costa and Adrienne Peters.

 

Motion: Menangas motioned to accept Travis Costa & Adrienne Peters as members of Engine Company 193, pending their physical exams; Roderick seconded the motion, All in favor.

 

Firefighter 1 & 2 Course will be held on September 8 – November 22, 2003 at Barnstable County Fire/Rescue Training Academy.

 

First Responder Program will follow the completion of this course for those requiring it. The dates for this class are December 1 & 4 – 18:00 – 22:00

                                    December 6, 08:00 - 1700

 

All Company Drill will be held on Sunday, August 3rd at 10:00 a.m. at Main Station.

 

Self Contained Breathing Apparatus Article discussed.  Balance of funds ($17,017.71) in, Article, ATM-02, Art 4-2 will be spent on breathing apparatus needed.

 

Low Band Base Station Unit to be replaced.  Procurement form will be submitted to the Town Manager for approval. 

 

Air Horn discussed. Electrician Kenny Wheeler will be contacted re repairs needed.
