Annual Bike Race sponsored by the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation discussed.
Annual bike races will be held on Sunday, June 23, and August 4, 2002, advised Glenn Enos. Provincetown will be the finish line. MSF would like to hire an ambulance manned with two EMT’s to be at their disposal for both races. Monks suggested the MSF be advised, in writing, that the department is not able to make a commitment to tie up a rescue vehicle but the Rescue Squad will be on duty and available to respond if they are needed. LCA would then transport the patient, if necessary. Glenn will advise MSF.
Dispatching policies & procedures discussed.
Chief Trovato & Chief Meyer will approve the Dispatch Policy (updated version) before it is implemented. Automatic fire alarms, MVA, etc. will be addressed in the updated policy. Dispatch training is needed for a few officers. Police officers will not be used as dispatchers in the future. Possibly someone could be appointed as Supervisor of Dispatchers.
