Meeting of the Board of Fire Engineers

Meeting convened at 7: 45 p.m.

Chief’s Report:

 

Landmark Fence Co. dropped off brochures on various types of fencing available.  Matter will be brought up at next meeting when Alexander is present.

 

Love Letter Virus has infected some computers in Town. Betty White, Mark Ford and David Guertin’s computer are infected with the virus. Gary Delius advises not to open any e-mail from these computers and if you think you have set off a virus, quickly shut off your computer and call him.

 

Cairns Iris Thermal Imaging Helmet Update discussed.  Helmet was mailed to Cairns Iris on 12/5/2001.  Helmet was then shipped to Ohio for the upgrade. Cairns Iris was taken over by Diversified Optical Products in Salem N.H. DOP claims helmet is still in Ohio awaiting the upgrade.  Helmet may be outdated within a year advises DOP.  Chief Trovato called DOP to obtain a loaner until our helmet is returned.

Jeffrey Sturtevant returned all FD gear, uniforms and radio equipment to Headquarters.

 

Letter of Thanks to Rescue Squad from Town Nurse Judy Dutra for Veteran’s Memorial School visit on May 20th during EMS Week. 

 

Annual Fire Extinguisher Inspection performed by R.E. Lyons & Son Fire Equipment Corp.  Cost:  $ 749.60. All stations inspected.

 

Meeting with James J. Meads, Director of Lower Cape Ambulance will be held in the near future.  Truro Fire Chief Prada will also attend and would like to invite the Truro Board of Engineers.  Chief Trovato suggested a Workshop in Truro. 

 

Tone Test Message will be dispatched for members of #5 to meet at the main station for a work detail to remove all equipment from Engine 195 before it goes to Emergency Vehicles of Maine for repairs.

Problem with Engine 193 drafting. Chief will contact A.J. to repair the vehicle.

 

Chuck DeGrandpre will be in Town next Wednesday to work on Engine # 1.  Specs for New Engine 193 will also be reviewed with Chuck.  Type of Pump discussed.

Cairns 10/10 Helmet will be ordered for Jeff Perry.

 

Rescue Stewards position vacant due to Jeff Sturtevant’s resignation on May 15, 2002.

Deputy Chief Alexander appointed Lisa Silva as Rescue Steward in the interim.

 

Motion: Roderick motioned to appoint Lisa Silva permanently as Rescue Steward; Wolf seconded the motion; All in favor.
