Meeting convened at 7:45 p.m.

Fire/Rescue Dispatching procedures discussed.
Delay in dispatching rescue calls discussed. Rescue should be dispatched immediately to a call before the police cruiser.
Air Pak inventory submitted by Air Officer Mike Benjamin.
We have 91 Bottles & 33 Air Paks. 24 Paks are overdue for testing, 8 are due by June.
Bottles are all up to date. Paks should be flow tested at least once a year advised Benjamin.
Chief Trovato will contact other dept. Chief’s to find out about scheduling the testing.
Purchase of facemasks for all department members suggested by Benjamin.
Funds from Capital Improvement Article will be used to purchase the facemasks, pass devices and radios. (11 Pass Devices are needed.)
Memo to Captains advising them to check the air packs on their trucks to be sure that each pack has a Pass Device. Board members will also check the air packs for pass devices.
Transfer of funds from A Budget, Line item Part-time fire to B Budget, Line item Building repairs discussed. $8,000.00 will be transferred to 52309-Bldg Repairs. Memo will be sent to Bruce Miller advising him of the transfer.
Training website for Provincetown & Truro being created by Jeff Francis and John Garren for Fire & Rescue Training.
Squad members have been drilling regularly on Sundays. Truro has also been involved.
AED training was given for rescue members who needed it.
Ladder 192 and Rescue will be getting together for a cross training drill.
EMS Awareness Week is May 19th to the 25th.
Rescue Squad members interested in participating and offering community programs for children, the elderly, etc. Pamphlets, handouts and etc. will be purchased for the programs.
Press Releases regarding the programs will be advertised in the newspaper. Tone test messages should go thru the F.D. Secretary.
Rapid Intervention Training thru Mass. Fire Academy will be held at the Main Station on March 3, 2002. Kent Ferrenkopf will instruct the class.
Marilyn Monks’s radio call number will be changed to # 197A.
Motion: Roderick motioned to assign radio call number 197A to Monks: Alexander seconded the motion, All in favor.
Provincetown and Truro dispatch will be notified.
Letter received from Lisa Silva requesting the department’s support and financial assistance in order for her to attend the September Paramedic course.
Monks will poll the senior Paramedics to see if they feel Silva is ready to take on Paramedic Course. Medics will make their recommendation re Silva to the Chief.
2 Radios for Scott Air Packs will be purchased. The Red Cross will pay for one. Cost: $600 ea. from Fire Tech & Safety.
Richard Meads’s lack of participation in the department discussed. Letter will be sent to Meads asking him what his intentions are regarding his membership in the department.
Letter of resignation as Steward of Headquarters received from Larry Flores, effective Feb. 14, 2002.
Motion: Alexander motioned to accept Larry Flores’s resignation, effective 2/14/2002; Wolf seconded the motion; All in favor.
Roger Green interested in the Steward of Headquarters position.
Motion: Alexander motioned to appoint Green as Std. of Headquarters; Roderick seconded the motion; All in favor.
Plane Incident at the Airport discussed. Department responded to the Airport on 2/8/02 for a possible plane crash. Air bags were used to lift the aircraft from the runway.
ROM Rollup Doors representative will be at the station on March 5, 2002 to inspect the paint lifting on Ladder 192’s roll up doors.
The Rural Fire Assistance equipment and supplies hand-off is planned for Tuesday, March 5, 2002 at 1100 hrs at the Marconi Maintenance area in S. Wellfleet. Chief Trovato, Engineers Wolf & Roderick will attend.
Public Safety Response Alert received from the Nat’l Fire Academy relative to Traffic Striping on Roadways conducting electricity. Memo will be forwarded to all Captains, Police Dept. and DPW.
Upgrade in Secretary’s position discussed. Letter will be sent to Town Manager Bergman advising him of the Boards decision to upgrade position to a Grade 7, Step 2 position.
Memo to all Captains, to be read to all house members, when someone uses equipment off of their truck or another truck, they are responsible for placing it back on the truck in clean and good working order.
New Engine 190 will be delivered on March 8, 2002.
