Present: Chairman Stephen Melamed, Acting Assistant Town Manager/Grant Administrator Michelle Jarusiewicz, Alix Ritchie/EDC, Hunter O’Hanian/EDC, Hersh Schwartz, Bill Schneider, Bill Dougal/EDC, Thanassi Kuliopulos/EDC, Cheri Mittenthal, Eileen Kennedy/PTV

The Chair calls the meeting to order at 10:05.

Updates:

Cultural Coordinator

An advertisement was placed in the legal section of the paper on March 9 and 16. Only one person responded, so Michelle would like to place another ad in the help wanted section of the paper. Bill Dougal made a recommendation of a possible candidate as did Hunter O’Hanian.

The EDC will invite the VSB to the May 5 meeting to discuss tourism and starburst packaging. Packaging sub-committee will meet on April 28 at 1:00 pm.

Streetscape

An ad was also placed in the legal section on March 9 and 16, and only one response was received. Michelle will run another revised ad. Alix Ritchie suggests considering the Harvard School of Design or Rhode Island School of Design take this on as a graduate project .

DMO

Discussion ensued regarding handouts of the last two meetings.

It is agreed that the sub-committee continue to meet. Next DMO meeting is scheduled for May 12 at 10 am.

Status of License Plat Small Grant

Alix states that the small grant for $25,000 has been approved and discusses her meeting with the CCEDC.

Other

Thanassi discusses Orlando EDC and states that more people are going to conventions than to Disney World - the economy has been doubled.

Bill Schneider discusses parking proposal - day trippers what to do with them? 1day museum passes, which include shuttle service.
