March 1, 2006 minutes were approved.

Discussion ensued regarding the presentation to BOS, which is tentatively set for April 10, 2006.  Hunter O’Hanian has been chosen to give the presentation.

Gabby gave an update of the DMO sub-committee meeting.  The consensus is that the DMO not be formed due to lack of money and the potential to hurt other councils.  Hunter suggests that the DMO continue to be explored.

Bill Dougal poses the questions:  What is it that isn’t being done?  How can the boards function like a DMO without the structure of a DMO?

Motion made by Hunter:  Working in cooperation with the VSB, PPG, COC and other similar organizations, the EDC will continue encouraging exploration of a joint marketing concept for the Town of Provincetown

Bill proposes engaging with VSB to take a leadership role and raise the bar.  Can the EDC recommend something concrete to the PPG, COC, and VSB?

Members agree that there should be two more DMO sub-committee meetings.  After those meetings, final reports should be sent out and then the DMO sub-committee meetings should be tabled for the summer to be picked up for discussion again after the season.

Discussion ensued regarding joint meeting with VSB.  It is decided that the EDC should attend their next meeting in April - find out how the EDC can be helpful to VSB with regard to their 5-year plan.  It is also decided that the EDC should attend the Pier Corp.’s next meeting.

The agenda for the next meeting was discussed.  Topics to include surplus, transportation, Streetscape recommendations.  Doug Taylor will invite the DPW (Mr. Turner and Mr. Gurton) to the meeting.

Meeting adjourned at 11:45.
