Meeting: November 30, 2005, 10 am

Present:

Members: Chairman Steve Melamed, Hunter O’Hanian, Thanassi Kuliopulos, Bill Dougal, Gabrielle Hanna

Staff:  Building Commissioner Douglas Taylor, Town Manager Keith Bergman

The Chair Steve Melamed called the meeting to order at 10:05 AM.

The joint meetings with the CPC and BOS were discussed. Both meetings were very positive and insightful. CPC has a lot of the same concerns. BOS encouraged EDC to go forward with their efforts and suggested getting data.

A State of Emergency was discussed with regard to affordable housing and the best way to express the need.

Doug will get housing stock numbers and speak with Gwen and Dray to come up with a budget starting as of 12/31/04. Deadline date for budget: 1/31/06

Numbers are needed for year-round population and year-round housing.

Sectors were divided among the members to start collecting data.

Discussion ensued as to whether or not to apply for VSB for tourism monies.

Hunter made Motion: to accept the $59,500 budget outline provided by Steve Melamed as follows:

5,000 for Secretarial Assistance

4,500 for PTV

25,000 for Facilitators

10,000 for Training/Seminars

5,000 for Materials

10,000 for Finding Funding

Hunter suggests an evening meeting where residents can give input, suggestions, share problems and ideas in order to benefit town growth. A public hearing has been tentatively set for Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at 7:00 pm.
