DISABILITIES COMMISSION MEETING

Minutes of meeting on April 25,2001.

The meeting was called to order at 5:40pm in the Senior Room of the Grace Gouveia Building at 26 Alden St., Provincetown, MA 02657

. Members Present: Terri Horwitz, Toni Schiff, Betty Villari, Linton Watts. Members Absent: Laurie Green.

The minutes were accepted as read.

It was decided that there should be some outreach efforts made to people with disabilities. Suggestions included a press release in the Banner to welcome people; to invite them to attend meetings and to let us know about their needs and concerns.

Toni Schiff spoke about a summit conference for all human services organizations on the Lower Cape. It will take place this fall and we should participate. Toni will keep us informed about this.

It was noted that the Annual Meeting of HOW was coming up on May 5th at St. Mary's church and that we should try to attend. Discussion arose about the need for by-laws. It was decided to check with Stefan Nofield, Town Clerk, about this and for all of us to become familiar with them.

The meeting adjourned at 6:10 pm. The next meeting will be on Wednesday, May 23, at 5:30 pm in the Senior Roon at the Grace Gouveia Building at 26 Alden St., Provincetown, MA 02657.
