Approval of the minutes of the meeting from July 11, 2007

New Business

Dog Park: Candice requested support from Disability Commission for Dog Park Proposal (concept) including the Proposal for Site Location on Shankpainter Rd. by Route 6, which Candice wishes to have by this Friday. Concerns of Site Location were raised. Michelle wishes to set up a meeting date to discuss the issues more fully with Invite/Notice to Public to Attend. Doug motions to have DC provide a letter of support for creating a Dog Park with HP accessibility, but not specific to the Shankpainter site location. Consensus was reached.

Commercial Street Pavement and Sidewalks: Sandy requests letter from DC insisting that “ADA Recommended” 5 ft. wide sidewalks be provided all along Commercial Street as part of the DPW’s Commercial St Reconstruction Plan (estimated $5 Million). DPW report due Sept 15^th. DC notes that although 5 foot wide sidewalks would be ideal for those of us with wheelchair, reasonable accommodations may need to be made by the Town with regard to encroachment issues and overall construction costs.

Beach Wheelchair: Doug will follow up with VSB regarding funding. DVD provided for DC members to view as part of the decision making process to decide if manual or powered WC is best for our situation in Provincetown.

ADA Building Assessment Doug has completed the labor intensive task of site by site assessment and is providing review to DC Members to review and approve to submit to Town.

PSA is being edited.

Roster for Emergency Plan needs to be discussed further.
