Meeting Minutes

Minutes of the September 13, 2006 Disability Commission meeting were read and approved.

New Business:

Certificates of Appreciation were given to Melinda Ancillo and Lorraine Kujawa for their work on the 2006 Wheelchair Accessibility Brochure.

Old Business:

Wheelchair Accessibility Brochure: Label and donation canisters for fundraising were discussed. Doug will check with Tourism director Bill Schneider to find out more information on Visitor Services Grant funding and application. Michelle to contact State Office on Disability to see if any other sources of funding to print brochure exist. The need for a brochure distribution plan was discussed.

PTV: Michelle met with PTV and they are willing to produce a PSA/promo for the Commission. Susan suggested numerous shots of people getting around town with disabilities, and adding a tag line/message at the end highlighting the Disability Commission.

Library Handicapped Parking: Susan presented photos she took showing the current handicapped parking at the Provincetown Library and suggestions for better improving the handicapped parking availability at the Library was discussed.

Next meeting scheduled for Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at 10:00 am.
