Minutes February 6, 2002

Meeting called to order in Judge Welsh Room

Town Hall 4:00 PM

Present: Toni Schiff, Betty Villari, Jim Pipilas, Terry Horwitz

Excused: Linton Watts

Also Present: Mark Latour, Stephan Nofield, Police Chief Ted Meyer, and Sgt Alan Souza

Minutes from January meeting were corrected and accepted.

Chair welcomes Chief Meyer and Sgt. Souza , and hopes that a good working relationship can be developed between the Disability Commission and the Police Dept.

Old Business:

Discussion concerning Crosswalk Markings:

Especially at Howland Standish, and Gosnold.

Stephan Nofield highlighted safety concerns in reference to said crosswalks, that were addressed in a letter from Michael Fernandez.

Sgt. Souza suggested overhead blinking lights and he offered to get information and cost from Mr. Guertin, of the DPW, and call the Committee with results.

Discussion about having an article on the warrant for town meeting, to appropriate money to fund these improvements, for the safety of our citizens.

A motion was made by Betty Villari to have a meeting on Tuesday February 12th at 4:30 PM to formulate consideration for Town Warrant.

Second by Terry Horiwitz.

All in Favor, None Opposed.

Motion to adjourn at 5:15 PM made by B. Villari and second by J. Pipilas.
