Public Hearing

There were no comments from the Public.

David Nicolau had to complete his list of ideas for goals for the CPC.

Eric Dray suggested that the members should discuss the politics on how to handle the Articles being brought up to the Board of Selectmen.

It was decided that, at the Town Meeting, Eric Dray would speak about the historic resource protection of Provincetown Town Hall for structural repairs, Elaine Anderson would speak about the open space (wellhead protection) purchase in Truro, to acquire property abutting the South Hollow Wellfield, and David Nicolau would speak about the affordable housing component of the Cape End Care Campus.

There was a discussion of what to say in front of the Town Meeting regarding the items and stating what the vote of the CPC was in passing the items.

The Committee talked about the Cape End Care Campus and affordable housing regarding the New England Deaconess Association.

David Nicolau described the meeting with the Board of Selectmen on March 1st and their discussions. He felt that the Board of Selectmen “left the door open” for the CPC to return with a housing plan and other ideas.

Mr. Nicolau brought up the point of monies and grants for the property on Alden Street. A discussion followed regarding ideas of the future direction of the CPC to bring when the members will meet with the Board of Selectmen.

Bill Dougal emphasized the need to hire a consultant to leverage monies to build most affordable

units in Provincetown. David Nicolau stated that $25,000 which was appropriated, has to be used by June 1st and to hire Laura Shoefelt as a consultant. It was planned to have Ms. Shoefelt come to a

meeting and have a framework prior to the meeting. Mr. Nicolau suggested getting a

architect/designer/planner to come up with a design for the Cumberland Farms property on Shank

Painter Road.

It was decided to invite Laura Shoefelt to the next meeting and to speak with the CPC members.

Items that should be brought to the meeting for Ms. Shoefelt's perusal would be the relevant by-

laws, housing reports, the minutes of the Board of Selectmen's meeting regarding the housing report

and any other pertinent information.
