Minutes of the Charter Enforcement Commission public hearing on Tuesday,

March 20, 2007 at 6:30 PM in Caucus Hall, Town Hall, 260 Commercial Street.

Present: John Braden, Chairman; Todd Wagar, Clerk; and J. B. Webb

Also Present: Warren Tobias, Acting Chief, Provincetown Police Department

Meeting called to order at 6:35 PM.

In accordance with §2-2-4 of the Provincetown Charter, the Provincetown Charter Enforcement Commission Members met to determine the number of Board members in favor or opposed to the petitioned articles concerning the Provincetown Charter for the April 4, 2007 Annual & Special Town Meetings.

The Charter Enforcement Commission members reviewed a memorandum on the subject of the above referenced article submitted by Town Manager Keith Bergman. They discussed the matter before them, and heard from Chief Tobias who also provided input, historical context and answered members’ questions.

Motion by Todd Wagar to recommend Article 13 as written. Second: J. B. Webb. Vote: 2-1-0.

Commission members agreed to table officer elections until their next meeting. Next meeting: Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at 6:30 PM in Caucus Hall, Town Hall, 260 Commercial Street.
