MINUTES of
the Committee Meeting on Thursday, September 27, 2001
Provincetown
Town Hall, Judge Welsh Room
Attending: John Thomas (chair), Don Richards, Patrick Patrick,
KC Smith
(clerk)
Excused: Barb Prato (alternate), Kerry Adams (vice-chair)
John Thomas called meeting to
order at 5:10 pm.
Minutes from the previous meeting
were amended. Don Richards moved and
Pat Patrick seconded that the minutes be accepted as amended. Motion was unanimously approved.
Approval of old minutes was
continued to the next meeting.
Scheduling of specific topics for
future Committee meetings was continued to the next meeting.
Copies of the Town Manager Monthly
Updates and the Cape Cod National Seashore Advisory Commission transcripts will
be mailed to each Committee member from Town Hall, as they are received.
The Committee was given a mail
slot at Town Hall for its use.
KC will contact Town Clerk Stephan
Nofield for stationery for Committee use in letters and communications.
Addresses of the Committee members
were collected for postal mailing purposes as needed; minutes and pertinent
information will be emailed to all Committee members for convenience as needed,
on an ongoing basis.
Regarding the upcoming public
informational Meeting on coyotes, a date was tentatively set for Thursday,
October 26th at 7:00 pm.
Informational and other materials to be available from 6:30 pm, before
the meeting. This meeting will be held in
the Judge Welsh Room if open for that date and time. The date is subject to the availability of all the speakers,
sufficient time for publicity, etc.
After discussion, the topic of
dune shacks was put on the agenda for the next meeting. John Thomas advised that Carla Tasha would
like to speak to the Committee on this issue; he will contact her.
The issue of extended parking fees
for the beach parking lots into October was raised. After discussion it was decided that John Thomas would draft a
letter, for the Committee’s approval at the next meeting, to the Selectmen
expressing concern over extension of fees and this extension’s impact on local
residents. Various Committee members believe that, since this matter affects
“cultural resources”, the Seashore might be required by its own procedures to
conduct an appropriate study on adverse impacts before it can take this action.
The date for the next meeting was
set for Thursday, October 25th at 5:00 pm at the Judge Welsh Room,
at Provincetown Town Hall.
With no further business, Don
Richards moved and KC Smith seconded that the meeting be adjourned. Motion was carried unanimously and the
meeting adjourned at 5:50 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
KC Smith, Clerk
