Minutes of the Committee meeting on Thursday December 29, 2005

Provincetown Town Hall, Judge Welsh Meeting Room

Attending: John Thomas (chair), Kerry Adams (vice chair), Paul Tasha, Barbara Prato

Excused: Pat Patrick

Meeting called to order at 5:00PM.

The minutes of the December 1, 2005 meeting were approved as amended.

John Thomas prepared a summary of relevant changes to the NPS Management Policy Draft for the first five chapters. This was provided to the committee and those attending.

Joe Duarte and Peter Sousa were present and discussed their comments with the committee.

Copies of the NPS Comparison Management Policy Draft were also provided at the meeting.

A summary of relevant changes to the last 5 chapters will be available at the next committee meeting.

A discussion was also heard about the dune erosion created by numerous foot paths in the dunes from Long Point to Hatches Harbor within the confines of the CCNS.

Also discussed was a concern over the drains, which allow tidal water to move back and forth at Mill Pond.

The committee will meet next on January 12, 2006 to hear further public comment on the NPS Management Policy Draft.
