MINUTES of the Committee Meeting on Thursday June 3, 2004

Provincetown Town Hall, Judge Welsh Meeting Room

 

Attending:            Kerry Adams (vice-chair), Barb Prato (alternate), Don Richards, John Thomas (chair)

Excused:            Patrick Patrick (excused)

 

Meeting called to order at 5:05 pm.

 

The Committee discussed possible new members to fill the position vacated by KC Smith’s death.

 

The Committee discussed the CCNS hunting study and various aspects of CCNS’ methodology.  Kerry Adams moved, and Barb Prato seconded, that John Thomas be authorized to draft a letter to the board of selectmen stating the Committee’s concerns; the motion passed unanimously.

 

The Committee discussed CCNS’ request to conduct a public meeting with some participation by the Committee on the hunting environmental impact statement and related studies in Provincetown. John Thomas moved, and Don Richard seconded, that suggested dates be forwarded to CCNS staff; the motion passed unanimously.

 

The Committee discussed the Herring Cove intersection studies.

 

The Committee discussed the new gates that CCNS installed between Herring Cove and the Airport intersection. Barb Prato moved, and Kerry Adams seconded, that John Thomas contact CCNS staff to inquire about the reasons for the gates and the intended extent of their use.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 5:33 pm.
