PUBLIC
STATEMENTS:

Pond and Shank Painter Pond Resource Areas.
Carl
Roach, manager of Cape Tip Moto-Cross, updated the Commission concerning the
enforcement order at Clapp’s Pond.
JOINT MEETING WITH THE OPEN
SPACE COMMITTEE AND THE PROVINCETOWN CONSERVATION TRUST:
The Commission discussed the
Shank Painter Pond Wildlife Sanctuary Management Plan with representatives from
the following groups:
Open Space Committee:
Robin Evans, Steve Milkewicz and Celine Gandolfo.
Provincetown Conservation Trust: Bill Fitts and
Elizabeth Patrick.
The Compact of Cape Cod Conservation Trusts, Inc.: Mark H. Robinson
Many ideas about the recent
construction at the area were discussed, including removal of the timbers, the
bluestone, the hardener and the topsoil, as well as changing the direction of
the path, and revegetating the area. Also discussed was how these changes would
be implemented. After much discussion, the Commission decided that more
consultation and research needed to be done before a final decision could be
made about how to proceed. Subsequent to a decision, the Conservation
Commission will write a letter of notice to the Conservation Trust and the Open
Space Committee informing them of that decision and recommendations for
implementation.
ADJOURNMENT:
Elaine Anderson moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:05
P.M. and it was so voted unanimously.
These minutes were approved by a vote of the Conservation Commission at their meeting on ___________________, 2006.
Respectfully submitted,
