COUNCIL ON AGING MEETING          Thursday, November 4, 1999

Grace Gouveia Building, Dining Room, 26 Alden Street

 

Members present:               Robert Gerard, Gladys Johnstone, Anita Berman, Pat

                   Benatti, Marge Perry, Val Carrano.

 

Members absent: Diane Corbo and Ray Sparks both called in their absences.

 

Friends present: Vern Wilson.

 

Meetings convened at 3:00 P.M. by Chairperson Anita Berman.

 

1. Minutes of previous meeting were reviewed and unanimously accepted as written.

 

2. Director's Report: Valerie Carrano sat in for Diane Corbo and reported that the office is pulling together during Diane's absence.

 

3. Friends' Report: Vern reported that the Friends gave a gift to Mrs. Corbo and one to Irma Aho as gestures of friendship during family crisises.

 

4. Old Business: The outside work on the Grace Goveia Building has started.

 

5. New Business: None.

 

6. Miscellaneous: The Maushope Housing Association is planning a bake sale on Saturday, November 6, 1999 from 10 to 3 at the fire station on Commercial Street. The proceeds will go toward a fire escape at Maushope. The Gourmet Cooking class has started. There were 18 people in attendance. Carol Wescott will be doing a painting class starting in January.

 

Date of the next meeting: December 2, 1999 @ 3:00 P.M.
