I. Minutes of previous meeting reviewed and unanimously accepted.
II. Director's Report: The report of Director was read by secretary
in Diane's absence. Thanks to Ed, maintenance man, for volunteering to
rent and collect our stadium cushions at Town Hall at all of the meetings.
Diane also mentioned on April 25th and 26th that the Provincetown COA will
host the AARP program "55 alive" which has been having great
success on the Cape. On May 9th, Tuesday, the office will again offer
Hepatitis Vaccine to the community. Diane also thanked Irma Aho and Vern
Wilson and their staff for the help with the Musical Cabaret Program. Director
asked board to consider placing cook books at all available local stores
to aid in fundraising.
III. Friends Report: good response from membership drive. $245.00 realized from "sale" of stadium cushions. Suggestions for future: Cushions on entrance to auditorium floor and more publicity locally regarding the cushions. Police Association donated $469.00 for a new wheelchair for the COA. Irma will check for confirmation dates 5/27 and 9/2 from police department for bake sales.
IV. New Business: Brunetta asked Board if steps could be taken to increase Outreach rate of pay. She will research ways and means and bring report to next meeting for advisement from COA Director.
V. Miscellaneous; Marge Perry's term of service ended. Motion
made by Brunetta to elect Ray Sparks Vice Chair, seconded by Marge. So
voted. COA will do their own landscaping using existing funds for plants
and the maintenance man for maintaining the grounds. Chair suggested letters
of thanks be mailed to Marge Perry, Pat Benatti and Dick Snell.
Motion made, seconded, and passed unanimously. A "Hot Dog" roast picnic
will be held for volunteers and staff. Bring picnic dish to share.
Date of picnic is May 12th starting at 12:30 pm. Let Director know
if
you will attend.
