                                                        COA Board Meeting

                                                               6/14/07

Present: Gerry Brennan [Chair], Florence Alexander, Greg Howe, Paul Mendes and Val Carrano, Director

Friends: Vern Wilson, Treasurer

Guests: Ron Gamelle, DPW & John Finnegan, M&E

The meeting was called to Order by the Chair at 3:04pm

The meeting began with a sewer presentation by our guests from DPW & M&E. Work will start with the excavation for the pumping station [N. front of building] and move up the hill to connect with Seashore Point. Memorial trees need to be moved [carefully]. Temporary [construction] parking seems OK [beginning 8/23/07]: if DPW and M&E vehicles do not absorb all available space.

Director’s Report:

Val received a call from a Gail Brown student – hopes that Gail will continue to teach. Senior of the Year nominations close next Mon. There will be a luncheon to honor the Senior of the Year on 7/13/07 at 1:00pm. The Director represented us at the State Ethics Comm. workshop [we are non-statutory]. Cell phones: Val will get them to Sgt. Benjamin at PPD.

Friends: The Bake sale netted $812.00. A first: food left over. Help at firehouse needed for next year. We need a schedule. Next Bake sale: Labor Day [9/1/07]. There will be a sign-up sheet at the 7/13 luncheon. $140.00 was paid out for education, events and supplies.

Elder liaison: Lock boxes: P’town Lions Club contributed $1000.00 2 years ago. Vile of Life: PPA won’t contribute [wants to use fileof life – which Firer/rescue doesn’t like]. PPA will contribute towards a new van. Val to write to Jim Golden to initiate campaign. Send special requests to R.Ouer & M&E.

Old Business: 4th of July – need to decorate car for Senior of the Year. Kay Vogt still needs to be sworn and come to meetings or we need a new Alternate.

New Business: Goals for 2008 were unanimously approved.

Meeting adjourned at 4:00pm.  Next meeting September 13, 2007

Respectfully submitted,

Greg Howe
