COUNCIL
ON AGING
BOARD MEETING May 12, 2005
Editor, PROVINCETOWN BANNER
Sally Rose of the BANNER was asked to attend our meeting so that we may find ways to better communicate with the BANNER in order to get better coverage for the COA activities and events. Most things go through the editor and articles get in according to space. Best to send everything through Ms. Rose at srose@provincetownbanner.com or 487-7400 ext.18. Editor is John Harvey, ext. 16. Go to press on Tues. so get articles in by the previous Friday. Would like coverage of Volunteer Recognition on Tuesday, May 17th.

Met with Salvation Army rep regarding Earle Chaddock’s

No word from Days re kitchen stove.
·
Senior-of-the-Year – still looking. How to recognize? Board suggested using the dining room again, offering 6 free
tickets to Senior and charging the rest including the Board and Friends,
$10/ea., and buying a corsage, etc.
Friends:
·
$185 income ($100 from cushion rentals).
·
$577 spent for senior events and coffee supplies.
· Friends’ election results: Diane Corbo as President and Marge Perry as Vice President.
·
Since the stove is still not working, the Friends would
be willing to pay 50% toward a new stove ($1500) in fiscal year 2007. Perhaps we could have the town find us a
grant for the other half.
