ON AGING
BOARD MEETING February 10, 2005
· Update on Building-
· Tony Lemming, supervisor of building and grounds hired professionals to strip floor in game room. Will be done 2/21. Will empty room out on 2/18.
· Will replace linoleum on first floor in hallways – work will be done only on this floor for now. Paid for by buildings and grounds.
· Diane (VP Friends) is away. Final dining room refurbishing will begin when she returns. Will be painting, new drapes, and carpeting.
· Will have open house for new dining room.
· Val will continue to try and contact Tom Boudreau about hard-wired telephone service for elderly disabled.
· Val will be away 2/24-2/25, 2/28, 3/17 –4/2 returning to work on 4/4.
Friends:

Annual appeal contributions to date are $4800! Last year’s total was $3900. ($400 from special letters)
·
Cookbook sales to date are $1240. Will sell more cookbooks at Seaman’s on
February 11.
·
The schedule of cookbook sales has changed to :
8:30 – 10:30 Marge Perry
10:30 - 12:30 G. Howe (I. Charles backup)
12:30 - 3:00 Hazel for G. Johnstone and V. Wilson

Bake sales are scheduled for May 28 and September 3,
and the firehouse has been scheduled for them.

COA gave congratulations to the Cane recipient at 100th
birthday party.
·
Beautiful new chairs and tables in dining room. Request that guest chefs are informed that
eating in dining room for cooking class not permitted.
SALT Council:
· G. Howe not present.
Old Business:
· 2 Month Calendar:
March 12th Year-rounders day: will sell cookbooks and cards
31st Town Meeting preparation meeting with free luncheon
provided by the friends. B. Wolfman to invite appropriate town personnel. Director to confer with her.
April 4th Town Meeting, Marge will sell cushions for the friends.
· G. Johnstone indicated plans for valentine day party all set.
New Business:
· 2005 Goal setting accomplished. See attached.
· Year-rounder plans: Kay will contact Cathy Reno to reserve table. All will check with local business’ to see if donations can be obtained for raffle. Donation jar will be set up. Need brochures and cards.
· Medicare will be deducted from the $750 paid to over 60’s for town work and town will issue a w2 for federal tax purposes.
· Signs will be put up to protect table tops.
· Movies will be shown each month on the fourth Friday with a light lunch served. Attendees should bring dessert or pay $3.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at
3:50pm. The next meeting will be held on March 10, 2005 at 3:00p.m. in room #10
of the Grace Gouveia Bldg.
