Board Meeting, Jan., 23, 2002
The meeting was called to order by the
Chair, Brunetta Wolfman, at 11:35 a.m., in room #6 of the Grace Gouivea Building.
Present:
B.Wolfman, A. Berman, G. Howe, G. Johnstone, T. Mc Neil and Jerry Brennan, an
interested citizen.

Business:
There was a discussion for clarification of comments made by the Town Manager at the last meeting concerning the time schedule of Town Meeting. Possibility of a bus to take Seniors to Town Meeting.
The Chair introduced a proposal for “Home Rule Petition/Amendment of the Provincetown Charter/Conduct of the Town Meeting,” as submitted by the Town Clerk, at the Board’s request. The full text is attached, and the central paragraph is quoted here:
“2-3-1 The annual town meeting shall be held on the first Monday in April of every year and shall be called to order at 6:00 p.m. for the purpose of transacting all business of the annual town meeting except the election of such officers and the determination of such matters as are required by law to be elected or determined by ballot.” The proposed petition was moved by Berman and seconded by Howe. The Chair called for a vote and the proposal was approved unanimously.[Berman, Howe, Johnstone and Mc Neil voting in the affirmative]
Strategy for Town Meeting presentation, and bus issue to be on agenda for March meeting. Possible pre-Town Meeting Senior Information Meeting 12m, Monday, March 25. Lunch and presentations.
Further to previous discussions of Senior Citizen of the Year: Berman suggested Jean Hendrickson as a nominee for Senior Citizen of the Year.
Discussion of the Manor and its future.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 12:22 p.m., on motion of Howe, seconded by Mc Neil.
