SPECIAL MEETING – MONDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2007

JUDGE WELSH HEARING ROOM

Chairman Cheryl Andrews opened the meeting at 5:35 PM noting the following attendees:

Board of Selectmen members: Cheryl Andrews, Michele Couture, Richard Olson, David Nicolau, Sarah Peake

Other Attendees: Consultant Thomas Groux of Groux & Associates, Town Manager Search Committee Chairman Austin Knight

Recorder: Vernon G. Porter

The following are meeting minutes, in brief.

1. TMSC REPORT AND SLATE OF CANDIDATES

Austin Knight – Gave briefing of the TMSC Report submitted to the Board of Selectmen with emphasis that the selected candidate lives in Provincetown.

Thomas Groux - very thorough, demanding and over 38 applications narrowed now to 9 applicants brought in for interview by the Search Committee.

Suggested that the Board of Selectmen cover the cost of the second interview by the applicants.

Residency – Many candidates had concerns of the real estate costs. Recommend strongly that the Board assist in moving expenses and possibly purchasing residency.

None of the candidates express any issue of the turnover of the Board of Selectmen.

Four candidates - #25 Michael Coughlin, #42 Leon Gaumond, #12 Sharon Lynn, # 11 Lawrence Deetjen.

(Tom leaves for Texas on Friday 23^rd and Returns on Tuesday, 27^th. )

Saturday – February 17, 2007 1) 2 pm Search Process 2) 4 pm Interviews 3) 8 pm Executive Session.

Tom explained that he does not do background checks.

MOTION: Move that the Board of Selectmen vote to send a letter of thanks to the Town Manager Search Committee.
