Minutes for meeting March 18, 2002 Present: James, Robin, and Jennifer Meeting called to order 1:10 PM
Public Comments Presentation by peter Cook: short term goal: plaque for anchor at Lopes Square requests Beautification Committee's assistance in research and grants. To initiate soon long term goal: statue to fishermen similar to one in Gloucester either at Waterfront Park, Lopes Sq, pier. Accompanied by plaque with names of fishermen lost at sea. Order of Business Minutes approved 2/8 and 1/16. Motion by Robin, seconded by Jennifer
Old Business Bas Relief: awaiting final plans from Paysage before project put out to bid Bike racks: awaiting word from DPW about installation at Cabral's Marina/Kite Store
New Business: Update from meeting with Barbara Rushmore and Trees for Town (a) Bill for tags to identify memorial trees 500$. Motion to contribute 400$ by Robin, seconded by James. Vote 3-0 (b) Waterfront Park path and groundcover. ? Beautification input and contribution discussed. (c) Copper beech gift tree for Ron Robin to be ordered in April for High Pole Hill along with memorial tree Barbara is planting in same park. Motion to pay for tree out of gift fund by Robin, seconded by Jennifer. Vote 3-0 No news from VSB about grant application for watering and plant maintenance.
New Business May plantings-discussion initiated.
