Report by DPW

David Guertin reported on and discussed several topics, including:

Harbormasters Platform: David reported that AGM’s cost estimate to construct a timber platform is $90, 504. He stated that there is no support for that type of expense. Profish has not followed through with their MOA and the original contract called for the harbormasters office to be on the "T". Rex McKenzie made a motion to put the harbormaster office in the original location due to higher cost from AGM than expected and lack of response from Profish. There was much discussion after Rex made this motion. Joyce had concerns that Profish was not adequately notified. Ginny responded by saying Profish has had plenty of time to respond and complete their MOA. Chad stated he didn’t know what Profish was doing and right now the guys are busy fishing. Joyce seconded the motion and so it was voted 4-0 and 1 abstained.

Whydah: David stated that in direct response to a letter he received from the Whydah he has initiated an inspection to evaluate the integrity of the structure of their property. He also informed the BC that the Whydah does not want the electrical transformer that directly feeds their property on their property. This transformer will now be installed on the pier. Rex had concerns that the transformer will impede pedestrian traffic flow and why shouldn’t the Whydah accept the unit on their property. There was much discussion about the Whydah’s lack of fulfilling its Chapter 91 license and how many years they continue to do so

Construction Update: There was much discussion about the heat trace cabinets on the pier because they were placed in an awkward spot. They visually break up the view on the pier and physically they are in the way of the whale watch boat patrons. Joyce made a motion to either move them or find a better solution to the present ugly boxes. Ginny seconded the motion and so it was voted 5-0.
