Call to Order: Regina Binder called the Meeting to order at 1 PM.
Minutes: Rex McKinsey voted to approve February
27, 2002 minutes, Regina Binder seconded and so they were approved.
Float Owners Meeting: David stated that he met with the Float Owners Association and that the meeting was a success. The owners received concrete information from Bill Lovely reassuring them that they will have access to their float spaces in plenty of time for business to start. David did state concerns that AGM is tight to the wire on completion of the float space area. Sue Whittaker stated she feels AGM will in fact be done in time for float owners 4 thru 9 to start up their businesses. She went into detail about the schedule of AGM over the next week or so. David once again stated his concerns and stated that AGM should be working weekends, overtime or what ever it takes to make this happen on time. Sue then asked if AGM has to relocate the float piles because this is about a 2-day job and would effect the completetion date, she also noted that this would be an extra charge to the town. David responded by stating these kinds of hold ups should have been formulated into the job.
Chapter 91: David informed the Building Committee that the town wants to use and protect all its float space. The Chapter 91 license is to be clearly defined for the town and also the Whydah. We need a clear picture of the Whydah’s float space as defined by their Chapter 91 license. Rex reported that the Whydah has requested that the DEP change their 91 licenses to expand on their float space. He reported that there would be a public hearing period for the town to respond.
Harbormasters Office: David stated that FS&T notified him that the plans for the harbormasters office and restroom platform would not exceed $5,500.
Rex McKinsey made a motion to let FS&T proceed with design of the Harbormasters Building Platform including space for restrooms, Joyce Guide seconded the motion and so it was voted 4-0.
Joyce Guide made a motion to discuss with FS&T” to provide us with a dredge maintenance design plan”. Ellen Rousseau seconded the motion and so it was voted 4-0.
Francis John also had some suggestions on the gangway attachments to the pier. He stated that instead of a step up to use the gangways they should be installed level to the pier and that there should be a universal attachment procedure instead of every float owner attaching in their own way. The Committee suggested having some discussion with FS&T about this issue.
Schedule Next Meeting: Will be on Wednesday April 24, 2002 at 1:00 PM.
Adjournment: Ginny moved to adjourn at 2:20 PM, Rex
seconded it and so it was voted.
These minutes were approved by a vote of the Provincetown Building Committee at their meeting on ______________, 2002
Respectfully Submitted,
