COMMITTEE FOR ANIMAL WELFARE MEETING

CALL TO ORDER:             Elizabeth G. Brooke called the meeting to order at 1:00 pm

MEMBERS PRESENT:           Elizabeth G. Brooke: Chair

                                                    Stephen Milkewicz

                                                    Richard Ferri

                                                    Brian Carlson

                                                Absent: Richard Ferri

MINUTES:

• EGB motioned to approve the minutes from last meeting: All in favor.

• EGB handed out an outline of key discussion notes.

•Dog Park: Discussion was had concerning the letter to be written to neighbors abutting the proposed dog park site. The committee will approve this letter and EGB & EAB will deliver it on Jerome Smith.

Included in the letter will be the following:

 -Strict control for dog behavior

 -It will enhance the neighborhood: EX: no dumping of old cars, rubbish, etc.

 -Target time of the start of construction in the morning

 -Hours of the park: Noise levels for neighbors

• Following up with David Gurtin on a walk thru of the property.

•Next the committee talked of getting the Selectmen to request installation of the Poop Station in Bas Relief park.

 -We need to get an agenda together to present to the Selectmen concerning our issues. 

• PSA (Public Service Announcements).  Poop/Leash/Rabies/vaccinate/Tics/no outdoor cats.  All included in the PSA.  Everyone in agreement.  This will take place after the first of the year.

• The Committee still concerned and talked about plan in case of disaster for animals.

 -Brian will find out if Red Cross is in the High School.

-Look into the airport hangers in Provincetown

There being no further business to come before the Board at this time, EGB motioned to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Ms. Hanna.  Chair Brooke adjourned the meeting at 1:55 p.m.
