BOARD
OF ASSESSORS MEETING

Hall, October 7, 1999
CALL
TO ORDER:The
meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM by
Chairperson,
Alberta Romano.
MEMBERS
PRESENT:Ms.
Romano, Mrs. Lina Berry, Ms. Parmakian, Mr. Rick Blanchette.

MINUTES:
There
were no minutes to approve at this meeting.
PUBLIC
STATEMENTS:There
were no public statements.
CORRESPONDENCE:There
were no correspondence to report on for this meeting.
OLD
BUSINESS:There
was no old business for this meeting.
Mrs.
Berry moved, seconded by Mr. Blanchette, to commit to the Tax Collector
the County Tax in the amount of $67,343 and the Environmental Fund Tax
in the amount of$57,812.The
motion carried by a vote of 4-0.
FY2000
Certification:
Mr.
Faris reported that Paul Kapinos, the consultant hired to assist the Town
with statistical analysis, had advised that it will likely be another six
weeks before the new values are ready to be certified by DOR.Accordingly,
he advised the Board that it would be prudent to request authority from
DOR to issue preliminary tax bills to avoid any revenue shortfall.Since
the Town needs DOR certification prior to holding the classification hearing,
that hearing has been postponed as well.Mr.
Blanchette moved, seconded by Ms. Parmakian, to authorize the Tax Collector
to issue preliminary tax bills if necessary.The
motion carried by a vote of 4-0.

Future
Meeting Dates:There
will be a meeting of the Board of Assessors on Thursday, October 21,

being no further business to come before the Board, Ms. Parmakian moved
that the meeting be adjourned at 9:17 AM and the meeting was adjourned.
