BOARD OF ASSESSORS MEETING
Town Hall, March 30, 2000

CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was
called to order at 9:35 AM by
Chairperson, Alberta Romano.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Ms. Romano, Mrs. Lina
Berry, Ms. Pam Parmakian, Mr. Rick Blanchette
MEMBERS ABSENT: Mr. Jack Kosko, Ms. Leslie Parsons
OTHERS PRESENT: Staff: Mr. Dana Faris, Principal Assessor
MINUTES:
Ms .Parmakian moved, seconded by Mr. Blanchette, to
approve the minutes of the March 16, 2000 meeting as written. The motion carried by a vote of 4-0.
PUBLIC STATEMENTS:
There were no public statements.
CORRESPONDENCE: Mr. Faris
reported on the following recent correspondence sent or received by the
Assessors’ Office:
1. A letter from the
Board of Selectmen to Leslie Parsons informing her of her appointment to the
Board of Assessors as an alternate member.
2. A memo from Mr.
Faris to Kenneth J. Learned, Director of Municipal Finance, advising that the
Board of Assessors voted to release $50,000 from the FY 95, 96, and 99 overlay
funds at its meeting on March 24, 2000.
3. A memo from Mr.
Faris to Greta Holman, Licensing Agent, summarizing the bedroom estimate for
the town.
4. A memo from the
Council on Aging to various boards regarding important changes in the senior
tax work-off program.
OLD BUSINESS:
Appellate Tax Board Cases Update: There were no cases to update for this
period.
Clause 58, Section 8 Abatements: There were no applications for abatement for
this period.
Motor Vehicle Excise Tax Abatements: There were no applications to consider for
this period.
Boat Excise Tax Abatements: There were no
applications to consider for this period.
Revaluation Update: There was a general discussion of the
progress on the revaluation including a general review of condominium values.
OTHER/MISCELLANEOUS:
Assessing Team and Office News: There was no assessing team or office news
that was not fully covered elsewhere in the minutes.
Future Meeting Dates: The Board will set a future meeting date
after town meeting.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no
further business to come before the Board, Ms. Parmakian moved that the meeting
be adjourned at 10:20 AM and the meeting was adjourned.
