BOARD OF ASSESSORS MEETING

Town Hall, Thursday, April 26, 2007

CALL TO ORDER:  Mr. Muse called the meeting to order at 8:34 a.m.

 

MEMBERS PRESENT:                   Mr. Greg Muse (Chair)

PREVIOUS MINUTES:

Ms. Parsons made a motion to accept the BOA Minutes of January 01, 2007. Ms. Deluca seconded the motion, and the motion carried by a 4-0 vote.

 

PUBLIC STATEMENTS: 

There were no members of the public in attendance.

 

NEW BUSINESS: 

None

 

 

MISCELLANEOUS:

BOA members reviewed, approved and signed the following documents:

1)      FY07 Senior Work Program

2)      Barnstable County / Cape Cod Commission Assessments

3)      FY07 Tax Commitment

4)      FY07 Water Deferrals (Requested by Tax Collector)

5)      FY07 Sewer Deferrals (Requested by Tax Collector)

6)      Waive FY06 Interest (Requested by Collector)

7)      FY94 through FY01 Personal Property Write-Offs (Requested by Tax Collector)

8)      FY92 through FY96 Boat Excise Tax Write-Offs (Requested by Tax Collector)

9)      FY04 through FY06 Motor Vehicle Excise Tax Credit Balance under $10.00 Write-offs (Requested by Tax Collector)

10)  FY07 Provincetown Housing Authority Pilot Programs Bill

 

 

 

GENERAL UPDATE FROM PAUL GAVIN, PRINCIPAL ASSESSOR

 

1)      FY07 Tax Rate has been set at $4.96.

2)      Real Estate Tax Bills mailed on April 18th 2007, and are due on May 18, 2007.

3)      BOA Meetings to process Abatements will be scheduled to start sometime after May 18, 2007 and will continue through the month of June.

4)      Books for board members will be prepared in advance with all property information to aid in abatement processing

5)      Mr. Gavin presented document listing Provincetown’s FY07 assessed valuations by classification.

6)      BOA member openings –One Alternate

 

 

NEXT BOA MEETING:

No meeting is scheduled at this time.

 

 

ADJOURNMENT:

There being no further business to come before the Board at the time, Ms. Parsons motioned to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Ms. DeLuca. The meeting was adjourned at 8:50 a.m.
