BOARD OF ASSESSORS MEETING
Town Hall, Wednesday, October 20th, 2004
CALL TO
ORDER: Ms.
Parmakian called the meeting to order at 9:02 a.m.

STATEMENTS:
Ms. Susan
Buerkel of 51 Bayberry Ave came before the Board, requesting reassessment of
her property value FY2004 based on a World Savings Bank appraisal. Ms. Buerkel is currently awaiting receipt of
the appraisal preparation hardcopy. Ms.
Parsons motioned that the decision be tabled for the next meeting to evaluate
Ms. Buerkel’s claim that there exists a ‘substantial difference’ in assessment. Mr. Muse seconded the motion and was carried
by a vote of 4-0.
MINUTES:
Ms. Parsons made
a motion to accept the minutes of the September 13th, 2004 meeting upon
correction of errors made in the spelling of Mr. Nicolau’s last name. Mr. Nicolau seconded the motion and was
carried by a vote of 4-0.
The Board
reviewed four requests tabled from the BOA Meeting of October 13th, 2004:

Bayberry Ave – (Mr. Nicolau recused himself). Abate to $239,500 from
$253,700. Mr. Muse made the motion and
Ms. Parsons seconded, and the vote was carried 4-0.

Bayberry Ave – Tabled for next meeting, pending receipt of Ms. Buerkel’s
appraisal information.

Race Point Rd – (Mr. Nicolau recused himself).
Abate to $487,950 from $601,000.
Mr. Muse made the motion and Ms. Parsons seconded, and the vote was
carried 4-0.

Shank Painter Rd – (Mr. Nicolau recused himself). Deemed denied due to lack of quantifiable data. Ms. Parsons made the motion and Mr. Muse
seconded, and the vote was carried 4-0.
BOARD
SIGNATURES:
The Board signed
off on current motor vehicle commitments and wrote comments in the card of
appreciation being sent to Mr. Kosko from the Board and Assessors’ Office.
ADJOURNMENT:
There being no
further business to come before the Board, a motion to adjourn was made by Ms.
Parmakian and seconded by Ms. Parsons.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:43 a.m.
