Minutes- Peggy Prichett moved to accept amended minutes. Neva Hansen seconded. Approved unanimously.
New member- Introduced Terry Catalano who is the new alternate
member.
Met with Stefan Nofield
to review our recommendations to the town about our role as the Art
Commission. We agreed that the most
important problem is finding adequate storage for the collection. Stefan and
the Commission will research the space needed and confer with others who have
this experience. It was agreed to try
to meet with Peter Macara and Jim Zimmerman next Tuesday, the 17th at
3 pm or whenever we can to get their ideas about storage needs.
Stefan asked us to
clarify what objects we were responsible for.
We are responsible for the art work and the bronzes. The question came up about the glass
photographic plates. They are probably
of historic value so would not be our responsibility.
Neva needs a signature to
acquire two pieces of art left to the town by --------.
Diane Shumway got a price
for photography from Jim Zimmerman between $1200-$1500 for digital photos and
slides. We agreed that complete
collection should be done and that would probably cost at least $2,000.00.
Diane will research the matter further.
Diane made some
suggestions about acceptance form, especially about the town having the right
to sell the work. She will look over
the current form and make suggestions.
