Members present:Neva Hansen, Diane Shumway, Constance Black, Peggy Prichett, excused Peter Garza

MINUTES JUNE 28:  Peggy Prichett moved to approve the minutes. Dianne seconded the motion.  Vote was unanimous.

OLD BUSINESS: Neva Hansen reported that the Blanche Lazelle has returned from the restorer and is at Julie Hellers to be reframed.  The final cost was $1,900.00.  We discussed sending the Agnes Weinrich print at the Heritage Museum to the same restorer since it also is badly foxed. Neva also reported that Paul Trainer sent back all the forms filled out for the work he is giving to the town.

CALENDAR Peggy and Diane reported that the slides are not producing good pictures so the commission decided to rephotograph each piece.  Jim Zimmerman will be approached about doing the work.  David Guertin could have the DPW move the work to the Art Association and back.  Also Borders could be approached about taking on the calendar.  It was decided that $4,000.00 would be a ceiling amount for the project.  Justification would be that  we would be able to sell the calendar and recoup the money.  It was decided to use an oil painting by Sal Del Deo for the cover and to reserve that spot in the future for living artists.

NEW BUSINESS The workers in the assessor’s office have asked to have the mural on their wall painted over.  We decided that it could be done since it is not listed as a piece of art work owned by the town.

BUDGET Since the budget was due in the afternoon, Neva reviewed our projected expenses.  The total came to $9,700.00.  This is a big increase but we have to restore the Agnes Weinrich, start on the bronzes, pay for the calendar and buy a projector. Peggy moved to accept the budget.  Neva seconded. Vote was unanimous.  Peggy and or Diane will go with Neva to meet Town Manager about budget.
