Meeting Convened:10:10am

Members present: Neva Hansen, Peter Garvas, Constance Black, Diane Shumway, Peggy Prichett (excused)  absent Phillip Retzky

Minutes of May 24 reviewed. Peter Garza mad a motion to accept.  Dianne Shumway seconded the motion.  Vote was unanimous.

Treasurer’s Report  Neva gave Peter information about encumbered funds.  Town will send us form to fill in before fiscal year ends.  Neva reported that Julie Heller is holding a gift of $500.00 from an anonymous donor.  We discussed whether this was proper since she is no longer on the committee.  It was agreed that Connie Black will compose a letter to ask her to hand the gift over to the town so that it will be part of the records for the fiscal year.

Old Business  The Commission then met with David Guertin about restoring the bronzes.  Peter Garza relayed information he has collected on applying for grant to Saving Outdoor Sculpture.  Also relayed recommendations to seek other assessors.  David Guertin said that the town could apply for the grant using Michele but he would need a vote of the Commission to proceed.  Constance Black made a motion that the town apply for a grant to Save Outdoor Sculpture to acquire services to assess restoration of sculpture.  Diane Shumway seconded motion.  Vote was unanimous.

David Guertin made the suggestion that the wharf renovation money be used to clean and restore the Macmillan plaque so that it could be rededicated to spur on the renovation of the wharf.  Peter Garza made a motion to accept the offer of the DPW to finance cleaning of the Macmillan Plaque.  Neva seconded the motion.  Vote was unanimous.

David Guertin also suggested a show of town art at the Town Hall during the late summer.  It was agreed that it would be a fine idea but that we should discuss it at a later meeting.

Neva Hansen read her new letter to the Heritage Museum.  She will send it out immediately.

New Business Peter Garza volunteered to be our representative on the Board of Trustees of The Heritage Museum.  Application form was acquired and Peter immediately made it out.

Peter Garza inquired about insurance policy at the Truro Historical Society where Diane Shumway is the curator.  Diane will inquire.

On reading over the insurance policy, it was learned that there was a $250.00 deductible and that we could afford to put in a claim to clean the Chaim Gross statue.  Peter will proceed with that process.

At a future meeting we will discuss exhibition policy.

Next Meeting will be at the Heritage Museum June 7, at 10:00 am if all goes well.
