Chairman’s Report
Stephen Borkowski said that the Commission cannot have a secretary or treasurer, but could have a Vice Chairperson. He nominated Peggy Prichett for the position.
A motion was made to appoint Peggy Prichett as Vice
Chairperson of the Art Commission.

Stephen Borkowski said that
the Provincetown Cultural Council is working on a “Art in Public Places Project.” Proposing an AIDS memorial
with funds from the VSB. This led
to a longer discussion about informing Town department and committee heads
about the Art Commission and its role overseeing the Town’s art collection.
Mr. Borkowski
proposed talking with the Town Manager about the best way to get the
information out.
A motion was made to authorize Stephen Borkowski to meet
with the Town Manager to clarify the Art Commission’s duties and responsibilities.

The Library Trustee’s has
asked Romolo Del Deo to
create a plaque for the Provincetown Library for the Josephine Del Deo Archive Room.
A motion was made to provisionally accept the Romolo Del
Deo plaque, based on the sketch which was presented on Heritage Day at the

distributed the financial report to the group. Any funds committed but unspent
will be encumbered before the end of the fiscal year. Mr. Borkowski had spoken to Town Manager
Sharon Lynn about the art alarms for paintings and she said to go ahead and try
them. He said that he thought Amy Heller
should have only light duty for the summer and that they would address the
issue again in September. The members
agreed. Peggy Prichett asked the others
to begin to think about potential new members to the Commission. She will be leaving at the end of the
year.
This will be the last
meeting until the fall.
