Meeting called for 2:30 PM

Meeting called to order at 3:03 pending attendance of a quorum. In attendance was Stephen Borkowski, Peggy Prichett and Peter Siegel.

The Chairman distributed the minutes of the previous meeting held on April 11, 2004. After review and with no comments a motion was made by Peggy Prichett to accept the minutes. The motion was seconded by Peter Siegel. After a unanimous vote, the minutes were accepted.

There being no treasure’s report, the Chairman proceeded to report to the Commission the progress of the Collection’s Manager, Robyn Watson. At the conclusion, the members agreed that the efforts thus far had been very satisfactory and asked the Chairman to convey that to Robyn Watson. It was also agreed that the Chairman would continue to be the contact person and would liase with the Collections Manager and take action as he deemed fit consistent with the wishes of the Commission.

The Chairman reported that an application had been received from James Bakker of Provincetown for the open position of permanent member of the Commission. It was further reported that due to the passage of time and upon instruction from the secretary to the Board of Selectmen, that the ability to appoint a member to this position now was the responsibility of the Art Commission. A brief discussion of the candidate ensued.

Peggy Prichett then made a motion to appoint James Bakker to the available position per the appointing ability of the Art Commission. Peter Siegel then seconded the motion. A unanimous vote was cast appointing Bakker to the Commission and the Chairman was instructed to notify the Town Clerk in order for the appointment to be prepared.

After a brief discussion, it was agreed to utilize the services of an on-call secretary to take future meeting minutes. A meeting was then scheduled for Friday, July 9, 2004 at 3:00 PM.

Peter Siegel made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Peggy Prichett seconded. A unanimous vote was taken and the meeting was adjourned at 3:45 PM.
