Minutes for meeting May 23 - reviewed minutes. Peggy moved to accept as amended. Diane seconded. Vote was
unanimous
Treasurers Report Peggy gave us a rundown of finances. We are now at the end and the start of the fiscal year. Connie moved to accept as corrected. Steve seconded.
Conservation Bob Gambone has completed 60
pieces conservation reports. The
commission urged him to get as many done as possible before the turn of the
year. However the suggestion was made
that conservation work could begin any time.
Old Business
Stephen reported that the Ambrose Webster paintings in the Town
Collection have been examined with an eye to using them as illustrations in an
upcoming book about the artist.
Cleaning prior to photographing them for such use was discussed. The advantage of such exposure was
discussed.
Bronzes The
Doughboy has been cleaned with some funds from the insurance for “The
Tourists”
Peter Hunt Furniture
Peggy wrote a letter to the Banner about their trip to see
the Peter Hunt furniture. They found
that the chairs at the firehouse were being cared for. Some pieces at the community center should
be moved to a better location.
Henry Hensche Foundation
They want to use some photos from our collection. The question of fees for using commission
material came up. Peter Seigel will
look into proper fees for such uses.
Norma Holt photograph of Paula Hondius Commission looked at photo. Diane moved that we accept it for the
collection. Vote was unanimous to
accept the piece into the collection.
