Minutes of the October 4, 2002 Meeting

 

 

The meeting called to order at 3:18 P.M. by Chairman, Constance Black, with members Stephen Borkowski & Diane Shumway were in attendance.  Absent but excused were Peggy Prichett and Georgia Coxe. Terry Catalano had resigned his position on the Commision prior to the meeting.  Present by invitation was Robert Gambone and Stefan Nofield, Town Clerk.

 

Minutes from the September 19, 2002 meeting were presented for review.  After review, a motion was made by Diane Shumway to accept the minute as presented, Constance Black seconded, and the minutes were approved.

 

The various issues relating to the inclusion of paintings from the Town collection in the Town Hall Art Show (the weekend of 10/4 & 10/5) and the measures to insure their security was discussed.   In addition the logistics of moving the paintings to the new temporary storage space was discussed at length by the members. It was agreed that at the conclusion of the formal part of the meeting that the group would visit the new temporary storage space.

 

After a thorough discussion, Stefan Nofield left the meeting.

 

The members of the Commission discussed  the “Friends” group and Robert Gambone will begin a statement of purpose for the proposed group as well as looking at similar groups in Provincetown to be used as models, in addition to drafting letters to potential members.

 

A thorough discussion followed regarding the format and information to be included in the data base and web pages.

 

It was noted that the Paul King Foundry had not contacted the Commission to schedule a cleaning of the statue in front of Town Hall.

 

Diane Shumway moved to adjourn the meeting, and begin a tour of the proposed temporary storage space, Stephen Borkowski seconded and the meeting was adjourned at 4:19 PM.
