Town Hall Restoration: Town Hall is undergoing extensive restoration work and in the interim Town Hall offices once located at 260 Commercial Street are temporarily located at 16 Jerome Smith Road for the duration of the renovation work, expected to be completed in the late fall of 2010. The mailing address to Town Hall remains the same: 260 Commercial Street, Provincetown, MA 02657.

Town Hall hours of operation: Monday through Thursday
8:00 am - 6:00 pm.

Nomination Papers Available for May 4, 2010 Town Election: Nomination papers for the Town of Provincetown's Annual Town Election to be held on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 are now available from the Office of the Town Clerk located at Provincetown Town Hall, 16 Jerome Smith Road, Provincetown, MA 02657. Any registered voter of the town shall be eligible for election to any office, but no person shall concurrently hold more than one elected office. Election to any office shall be nonpartisan. Proposals Sought for 2010 Annual Traffic Hearing: The Provincetown Board of Selectmen is accepting traffic proposals through Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 5 p.m. for the 2010 Annual Traffic Hearing. The hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 6 p.m. in 6:00 p.m. in Larkin Hall at the Center for Coastal Studies, 5 Holway Avenue, Provincetown, MA 02657. Such proposals must be submitted in writing on the traffic proposal form which is also available in the Office of the Town Manager / Board of Selectmen, Town Hall, 16 Jerome Smith Road, Provincetown, MA 02657. Provincetown Community Garden Opening Soon! Want a bed at B Street Garden? The Garden Advisory Group and Conservation Commission are pleased to announce Provincetown's new community garden, opening May 1, 2010. We are providing 8'x12' garden plots in beds raised one foot above ground. Thirty gardeners will be accepted for this first phase! The B Street Garden is located off Browne Street, across from the police station on Shank Painter Road. Register to receive an application and to be added to the B Street Garden email list today! New Floodplain Maps: The Federal Emergency Management (FEMA) recently revised the Provincetown flood zones and has released preliminary new flood insurance rate maps (FIRM) for our community. The new FIRM maps are still in a preliminary phase and will not become effective until June,2010. A change to the flood zone designation for your parcel could result in the need for you to obtain flood insurance coverage or a change in your present flood insurance rates. For More Info.

Emergency Snow Removal and Towing of Vehicles in the Event of Snowfall Winter 2009-2010: Pursuant to Massachusetts General Law Ch. 40, § 22D, and Provincetown Regulations Ch. 3, § 3-1-1 through 3-2-2, all vehicles parked on specific streets in the event of snowfall will be ticketed and towed from the street at the owner's expense. Shellfish Area to Open November 1st: On Sunday, November 1, 2009, the shellfish area east of the west end breakwater will be open to the public. The days allowed are Sundays and Fridays through the end of March 2010, with a ten-quart limit per week. Licenses, gauges, and a copy of the regulations will be available at the Town Clerk's office, Temporary Town Hall, 16 Jerome Smith Road, after October 20, 2009. See Public Notice.

VSB Announces Tourism Grant Guidelines for FY 2011: The Visitor Services Board is seeking grant proposals for special events and promotions for funding under the Tourism Fund for Fiscal Year 2011 (for events taking place July 1, 2010 - June 30, 2011). Proposals will be accepted from any individual, business, municipal department, or non-profit organization conducting an event, activity, or project located in the Town of Provincetown seeking financial assistance to promote off-season projects, programs or special events that promote and enhance year round tourism in Provincetown. Rental Certificates: The Provincetown Board of Health has adopted new public health and safety regulations pertaining to the renting of property for habitation. This new regulation applies to all forms of rental property including weekly, seasonal, and year round. If you are renting property, you are required to obtain the Renter’s Certificate and receive an inspection every 3 years.
